Intern

A senior at Florida State University double majoring in Political Science and Geography, Dhaya Bharath is deeply committed to advancing human rights through both scholarship and community engagement. Originally from Northern Virginia and the child of immigrants, her perspective is shaped by a strong awareness of how historical and systemic inequalities continue to impact communities today. She was drawn to the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights as a way to make a tangible difference, gaining firsthand experience in how legal aid can support vulnerable populations. Inspired by the work and writings of Audre Lorde, Dhaya believes in the power of knowledge, collective action, and community care. She hopes to pursue a career in public service law or continue her studies at the doctoral level, with the goal of organizing and advocating for more just and equitable systems. Outside of her academic and advocacy work, she enjoys music, reading, art, and spending time at local spots like The Bark.
