Advocacy

Since its founding, the Center has worked with a wide range of vulnerable populations, with a focus on providing direct support to individuals affected by human rights abuses. CAHR offers pro bono legal representation to asylum seekers, survivors of torture and human trafficking, abused immigrant women, victims of violent crime, and unaccompanied foreign national children. Through this work, the Center has assisted hundreds of clients seeking immigration relief.

CAHR also offers a variety of human rights summer internship opportunities. Many placements are offered annually in collaboration with FSU departments and colleges, while others are available each summer through a competitive application process. Most internships involve working with human rights NGOs (non-governmental organizations) across the globe, reflecting CAHR’s extensive network of partners.
