Chassan Samuels
Intern
A junior at Florida State University double majoring in International Affairs and Human Rights & Social Justice, Chasann Samuels is passionate about advancing justice through advocacy and legal work. Originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica, she was drawn to the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights because it closely aligns with both her academic interests and her commitment to supporting marginalized communities beyond the classroom. Chasann believes human rights are the foundation of dignity, equality, and justice, and sees this work as especially critical in today’s political climate. Inspired by Markéta Hronková, an attorney and director of the anti-human trafficking organization La Strada, she is motivated by the intersection of law, advocacy, and direct service. After graduation, Chasann hopes to attend law school and continue building a career in human rights. Outside of her academic and advocacy work, she enjoys practicing yoga and visiting Florida’s springs.
