Bregeette Corpeno
Intern
A junior at Florida State University double majoring in Psychology and Sociology, Bregeette Corpeno is passionate about supporting underserved communities through advocacy and care. Originally from Plantation, Florida, she was drawn to the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights because of its work with immigrant communities and individuals who may not always have access to support. Coming from an immigrant background herself, Bregeette understands how difficult it can be to navigate unfamiliar systems and believes human rights are deeply connected to fairness, dignity, and everyday wellbeing. She is inspired by immigrant rights advocate Cristina Jiménez Moreta and her commitment to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities. In the future, Bregeette hopes to earn her Master of Social Work and help make mental health resources more accessible in communities where those conversations are often overlooked. Outside of her academic and advocacy work, she enjoys visiting nearby springs and spending time at Maclay Gardens.
