Milanya Moore

A sophomore at Florida State University pursuing a dual degree in Human Rights and Social Justice and International Affairs, with a planned minor in Criminology, Milanya Moore is passionate about advancing justice through law and advocacy. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, she was drawn to the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights to gain hands-on experience while preparing for a future legal career. Milanya believes human rights work is rooted in recognizing the dignity of every person and standing up for the right of all people to live in humane conditions and pursue better opportunities. Inspired by Bryan Stevenson and his work with the Equal Justice Initiative, she hopes to pursue a career in prison reform law. Outside of her academic and advocacy work, Milanya enjoys spending time in nature and exploring creative spaces around Tallahassee like Railroad Square.
