Amanda Sanchez

Intern

A junior at Florida State University pursuing a dual degree in International Affairs and Finance, Amanda Sanchez is passionate about advancing human rights through diplomacy and community engagement. Originally from Saint Petersburg, Florida, she was drawn to the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights to gain hands-on experience, serve her local community, and connect with mentors in the field. Growing up in a family of immigrants, Amanda developed a strong awareness of how policy and social systems shape everyday life, motivating her to advocate for those whose voices are often overlooked. Inspired by author and activist Khaled Hosseini and his work highlighting the human impact of conflict, she hopes to build a career in the Foreign Service focused on fostering peace and global cooperation. After graduation, Amanda plans to serve in the Peace Corps to further her commitment to international service. Outside of her academic and advocacy work, she enjoys going to the gym, taking spin classes, and spending time at Piney Z Lake.
