Holodomor Remembrance with a powerful array of talks and music concerning the Two Regimes project, the war in Ukraine, & Genocide.

The Holodomor describes the period from 1932-1933 when millions of Ukrainians starved to death due to Soviet policies. Two Regimes is the life’s work of a mother and daughter duo, Teodora Verbitskaya (author) and Nadia Werbitzky (professional artist), which documents their first-person experience of the cruel reigns of Hitler and Stalin.

On November 7th, The US Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor-Genocide Awareness, the Holodomor Research and Education Consortium–Canada, the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Alberta, The Florida Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, Winding Road Films, the Foundation for Leon County Schools, His Kids Too, Mission BBQ of Tallahassee, Two Regimes and the Tallahassee Ukrainian community came together and sponsored a media event for the 90th Commemorative year of the Holodomor Genocide (1932-33).

This Holodomor Rememberance event was to bring awareness to the nation about the past Ukrainian Genocide and its long-term effects that persist today. Additionally, to get the public attention of Two Regimes as a teaching resource to educate those unaware of this historic Genocide and to be an alternative to resources already in use.
