Intern

Kiara Videla is a J.D. candidate at Florida State University College of Law, where she is developing a strong foundation in human rights and immigration law. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from FSU and has been actively involved with the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights since 2024, gaining hands-on experience in advocacy and client support. This summer, Kiara hopes to intern with a human rights-focused NGO in Lima, Peru, the Ombudsman Office, - United Nations Human Rights: Office of the High Commissioner (OHCHR), or Asociación pro Derechos Humanos (APRODEH), where she plans to strengthen her advocacy skills in an international setting. As a Spanish speaker with professional connections in Peru, she is eager to deepen her understanding of global human rights systems and pursue a future career as an immigration attorney focused on international human rights advocacy. Inspired by Malala Yousafzai’s advocacy, Kiara hopes to become a human rights attorney. In her free time, she enjoys hiking local trails and exploring Tallahassee’s restaurant scene, including favorites like The Bada Bean.
