About The FSU Center for the Advancement of Human Rights

The Center for the Advancement of Human Rights (CAHR) welcomes those who would like to learn about human rights issues and explore possibilities for human rights advocacy.

The issuance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 began what some have termed “The Human Rights Revolution.” Since that time, the human rights movement has become a global phenomenon, challenging people and governments everywhere to guarantee the basic rights of all the world’s citizens.

As part of that Human Rights Revolution, Florida State University in 2000 established the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights.
