The FSU Center for the Advancement of Human Rights
The Center for the Advancement of Human Rights (CAHR) welcomes those interested in learning about human rights issues and exploring possibilities for human rights advocacy.
The issuance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 began what some have termed “The Human Rights Revolution.” Since that time, the human rights movement has become a global phenomenon, challenging people and governments everywhere to guarantee the basic rights of all the world’s citizens. As part of that Human Rights Revolution, Florida State University established the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights in 2000. At the Center, we provide pro bono legal services for immigrants and refugees, human rights courses, and partnerships with local, national, and global NGOs.
